Preparation

Preparation for next winter has already begun with visits to Pro Feet, Putney Chiropractic and Pro-Hab. RJF’s Nic Watkins and Nick Southwell have recently signed for Nordica boots and along with this were fortunate enough to have them fitted at Pro Feet. At Pro Feet they took our factory-produced boots and turned them into custom made boots that were fitted to both our body and foot type and also our skiing style. The Nordica speed machine 10 feels amazing and we can’t wait to get them on the snow.

We would Like to give a massive thanks to Alastair Park from Nordica and also Jimmy, Hamish and everyone at Pro-Feet for the incredible job they did. www.profeet.co.uk, www.nordica.com

Next up was a trip to Putney Chiropractic, where we were also joined by RJF athlete Phil Hopper. Here leading chiropractor Craig McLean worked with and x-rayed Phil who had suffered a broken back three years ago. He also took time to check Nic and Nicks aliments and to loosen up areas around our back and neck, places essential to our skiing performance. Putney Chiropractic works to improve your flexibility and posture and even after one session we could feel a huge difference in comfort and range of movement.

We would like to give a huge thanks to Craig McLean and everyone at Putney Chiropractic. www.putneychiropractic.co.uk

Last up was a trip to Pro-Hab where we were seen by Doctor Carlyle Jenkins. Carlyle specializes in combing the best parts of chiropractic, craniosacral therapy, acupuncture and psychology. We worked with Carlyle to remove mental blocks that could have been holding us back on the slopes. Nick having had an ACL reconstruction in May, worked to remove the fears of skiing after the operation. Phil Hopper worked to clear his block on big cliff drops and Carlyle worked with Nic to improve his confidence through the means of visualisation of big mountain descents.
The session helped clear our fears and really progressed our state of mind for this coming winter.

A massive thanks must go to Carlyle for this enlightening experience.

Night in Milton Keynes

On Friday the 3rd of November I drove up to Milton Keynes to film a night of the British snowsports tour that had been travelling England. The indoor slope had a pretty good line of rails including a low flat rail, a gas pipe, a picnic bench and a couple of kink rails. I spent the night filming Paddy Graham mainly on the kink rail and I got some sweet shots of him spinning on and off stuff. Check out the sequence I made from one of the clips of his 450 disaster on the kink rail, sick!!
